Baggage Policy

Each ticket holder is entitled to one (1) hand bag and two (2) pieces of checked luggage, in accordance with the following baggage policy:

1 HAND BAG

Orléans Express allows only one (1) hand bag on board per passenger, weighing no more than 5 kg (11 lbs) and measuring no more than 115 cm (45 in) linear.
Linear dimensions = width (15 in / 35 cm max) + length (16 in / 40 cm max) + height (must fit within a restricted space of 19 cm (7.5 in))

Ex: slim backpack, briefcase, handbag (laptops, cameras, electronics and any other personal items must all fit in the one hand bag allowed).

“Carry-on” suitcases are not allowed on board and must be placed in the hold in accordance with the baggage allowance.

The hand bag must be placed in the overhead compartments above the seats. For safety reasons, it may not be placed on a seat or in the aisle.

With the exception of the hand bag, all other luggage must be placed in the hold according to the applicable conditions.

CHECKED LUGGAGE

Each ticket holder has a free allowance of two (2) pieces of luggage in the hold. The maximum weight must not exceed 23 kg (50 lbs) and the maximum linear dimension is 165 cm (65 in).
Linear dimension = width + length + height.

“Carry-on” cabin suitcases must be placed in the hold and are subject to the conditions and baggage allowance.

Sports equipment and musical instruments are considered checked luggage and are subject to the conditions and baggage allowance.

Bicycles and scooters are not included in the baggage allowance included with your ticket (2 pieces of luggage). They are not considered an extra piece of luggage: they are subject to separate fees. Therefore, any ticket holder travelling with one of these items must pay the applicable bicycle transport fee, regardless of the number of pieces of luggage placed in the hold. Additionally, these items must be packed in a rigid box or cardboard container, in accordance with the instructions on the page Travelling with your bike

Any additional piece of luggage will be considered “extra” checked luggage, for which certain conditions apply.

Protective plastic wrappings around suitcases must be removed to help with baggage handling.

** If your luggage exceeds 23 kg (50 lbs), you will have to place it in the hold yourself. Orléans Express accepts no responsibility.

Items placed in a plastic bag (such as a garbage or shopping bag) cannot be placed in the hold, as the bag cannot protect its contents. A plastic bag can be considered a hand bag only if it fits in the overhead compartment above the seats.

“EXTRA” CHECKED LUGGAGE

Each ticket holder may purchase an additional allowance for a maximum of two (2) extra pieces of luggage.

Each extra piece of luggage must not exceed a maximum weight of 23 kg (50 lbs) and a maximum linear dimension of 165 cm (65 in). Oversized or overweight luggage may be refused at boarding.

The fee for each extra piece of luggage is $30 plus applicable taxes per one-way trip. It must be paid when purchasing the ticket or at an authorized ticket office before departure. Proof of payment will be required at boarding. The extra luggage fee is not refundable and cannot be credited to your account.

Bicycles, electric bikes and scooters are not included in the baggage allowance included with your ticket (2 pieces of luggage). They are not considered an extra piece of luggage: they are subject to separate fees.

All luggage, including but not limited to regular luggage, cabin suitcases, sports equipment and musical instruments, is considered extra luggage if the total exceeds the two (2) pieces included in the allowance.
Ex: A trumpet, a cabin suitcase and a ski bag = 3 pieces. An allowance for 1 extra piece of luggage is therefore required, at $30 plus taxes per one-way trip.

Your 5th piece of luggage and any additional luggage must be shipped via Expedibus. The cost will be determined by the weight and destination of the luggage, whether or not it travels on the same coach as you.
